Mega Diancie ex 💎
Mega Diancie ex is the heart of the deck and one of the strongest cards introduced in Everyday Wonders. Its Brilliant Storm attack starts at 40 damage, then gains an additional 20 damage for every Psychic Energy attached to all of your Pokémon, both Active and Benched.
With the incredible Psychic support currently available most of it coming from Fantastical Parade reaching six or seven Psychic Energy in play is surprisingly easy, allowing Mega Diancie ex to consistently hit for 160 to 180 damage. As the game goes on and more Energy enters the field, its damage output keeps growing, making it one of the best late-game attackers in Pokémon TCG Pocket.
After testing multiple versions of the deck myself, including builds with both Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir ex, I was consistently able to reach 10 Psychic Energy in play. At that point, Mega Diancie ex can knock out virtually anything standing in its way, turning every additional Energy attachment into even more pressure on your opponent.
Despite its incredible offensive potential, Mega Diancie ex shouldn’t be rushed into battle. During the early game, its damage is still fairly limited, and with 170 HP, it’s one of the frailer Mega Evolution Pokémon. Since your opponent earns three points for knocking it out, losing it too early can easily cost you the match.
In most games, your priority should be setting up your board first while keeping Mega Diancie ex safely on the Bench. Once your Energy engine is online and you’re confident it can start taking knockouts, that’s when it’s time to promote it and let it take over the game.
This slower, control-oriented game plan is one of the deck’s biggest strengths. Rather than attacking immediately, you’ll often spend the first few turns accelerating Energy with cards like Carbink or Gardevoir, while Meloetta helps thin your deck and improve consistency. Once everything is in place, Mega Diancie ex quickly becomes an unstoppable damage dealer capable of sweeping through opposing teams.
The deck is also very well positioned in the current competitive meta. Mega Diancie ex performs especially well against lower HP Mega Evolution Pokémon such as Mega Lucario ex, Mega Altaria ex, and Mega Absol ex, while also matching up favorably into powerful Pokémon ex like Suicune ex and the terrifying Milotic ex.
That said, the deck isn’t without weaknesses. Fast, aggressive strategies that can pressure you before your setup is complete are its biggest threat. Decks like Miraidon ex can overwhelm you early, while Mega Blaziken ex and Mega Scizor ex are particularly dangerous because of Mega Diancie ex’s Metal Weakness. In fact, Mega Scizor ex can score a clean one-hit knockout by dealing 150 damage plus the additional 20 damage from Weakness, making it one of the toughest matchups you’ll face.
One of the best things about Mega Diancie ex is its flexibility. There isn’t a single “correct” way to build the deck, and several competitive variants are already seeing success. Below, you’ll find different deck lists featuring a variety of support Pokémon and playstyles, so you can choose the version that best fits how you like to play.
Booster Packs:
- Mega Diancie ex – Everyday Wonders
Other Pokémons 🎵

The Support Pokémon listed below are not mandatory inclusions for every build. They are simply different options that can be mixed, swapped, or adjusted depending on your preferred strategy, playstyle, and the cards you currently have available.
While Mega Diancie ex is the deck’s main win condition, the supporting Pokémon are what make the strategy consistent. Most of them either accelerate Psychic Energy, keep Mega Diancie ex alive, or help you survive the early game until your main attacker is ready to take over.
Comfey
Comfey is an excellent utility Pokémon that protects your board from Special Conditions. This is especially valuable in the current meta, where Poison, Burn, and particularly Sleep can completely disrupt your game plan.
Being able to prevent those effects gives you a much better matchup against decks like Igglybuff/Darkrai, one of the strongest archetypes on the Ranked ladder, while also helping against threats such as Mega Sceptile ex.
Carbink
Carbink is one of Mega Diancie ex’s best partners. Think of it as the Psychic equivalent of Manaphy from Space-Time Smackdown. It can attach one Psychic Energy to each of two Benched Pokémon, immediately accelerating your setup while increasing Mega Diancie ex’s future damage output.
Since Brilliant Storm counts every Psychic Energy attached to your board, Carbink contributes both to your setup and to your late-game damage.
Indeedee ex
Indeedee ex is mainly played in more defensive versions of the deck. While it stays safely on the Bench, it heals 30 HP from Mega Diancie ex every turn, making your main attacker much harder to knock out.
If you manage to keep two Indeedee ex in play, that healing jumps to 60 HP per turn, allowing Mega Diancie ex to survive situations that would normally force it off the field.
Mimikyu ex and Gourgeist
If you prefer a more aggressive approach, Mimikyu ex and Gourgeist are both excellent choices. They help apply early pressure while Mega Diancie ex is still being set up, forcing your opponent to react instead of giving them several free turns.
Having a reliable early-game attacker also takes some of the pressure off Mega Diancie ex, letting you keep it safely on the Bench until it’s ready to start taking knockouts.
Meloetta
Meloetta is the deck’s primary search Pokémon. It helps you find your key Psychic Pokémon while thinning your deck, making your draws more consistent throughout the game.
Although it won’t be your main attacker, its ability to improve consistency makes it an easy inclusion in many Mega Diancie ex lists.
Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir ex
Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir ex are arguably the strongest support Pokémon available for Mega Diancie ex. Both focus on accelerating Psychic Energy, but they do so in different ways.
Gardevoir provides a steady stream of extra Energy from the Bench, making it a reliable option that fits naturally into slower, control oriented builds. Mega Gardevoir ex, on the other hand, can attach three Psychic Energy while attacking, allowing you to scale Mega Diancie ex’s damage at an incredible pace.
In my testing, versions built around Mega Gardevoir ex consistently reached 10 Psychic Energy in play, enabling Mega Diancie ex to hit absurd damage numbers.
Both are outstanding partners, and choosing between them largely comes down to whether you prefer a safer, more consistent setup or a faster, higher ceiling strategy.
Booster Packs:
- Indeedee ex – Mega Rising
- Comfey – Celestial Guardians: Solgaleo
- Gardevoir – Genetic Apex: Mewtwo
- Mega Gardevoir ex – Fantastical Parade
- Meloetta – Fantastical Parade
- Carbink – Everyday Wonders
- Mimikyu ex – Fantastical Parade
- Gourgeist – Fantastical Parade
Best Support Partners
- Carbink / Gardevoir / Mega Gardevoir ex – Accelerate Psychic Energy to power up Mega Diancie ex.
- Comfey / Indeedee ex – Keep your board healthy and protected from Special Conditions.
- Meloetta – Improve consistency by searching for key Psychic Pokémon.
Trainer Cards

Just like the Pokémon section, these Trainer cards are not all meant to be played together. They are simply useful options that can work inside different versions of the deck.
The Trainer lineup is built around one goal: helping Mega Diancie ex reach its full potential as consistently as possible. Most of the cards you’ll find here are staples that appear in a wide variety of competitive decks, while a few are specifically chosen to support Mega Evolution strategies or improve difficult matchups.
Supporter cards:
Most of the Supporters in this deck are competitive staples that provide consistency, disruption, or utility throughout the game.
Professor’s Research and Copycat are your primary draw engines, helping you find your key Pokémon, Energy, and Trainer cards as quickly as possible. Keeping your hand full is especially important in a deck that needs several turns to establish its board.
Cyrus and Sabrina give you excellent control over your opponent’s Active Pokémon by forcing switches. They’re perfect for dragging vulnerable targets into the Active Spot, finishing damaged Pokémon before they can retreat, or disrupting your opponent’s strategy at the perfect moment.
Pokémon Center Lady provides both healing and Special Condition removal, making it one of the most valuable utility cards in the deck. Removing Sleep is particularly important in today’s meta, but curing Burn or Poison can also prevent your opponent from stealing easy knockouts.
Finally, Serena is a dedicated search card for Mega Evolution Pokémon. It’s especially valuable in builds that only play a single copy of Mega Diancie ex or combine multiple Mega Evolutions, giving you a much more reliable way to find the right attacker when you need it.
Stadium cards:
Peculiar Plaza is the Stadium you’ll use most often. Reducing the Retreat Cost of Psychic Pokémon by two effectively gives almost your entire deck free retreat, making it much easier to reposition your attackers and maintain tempo throughout the game.
Some builds also include Starting Plains, which increases the HP of your Basic Pokémon. While the extra HP may seem small, it can make a crucial difference by keeping Mega Diancie ex out of knockout range. It’s particularly useful in games where you brick, open with Diancie, and need it to survive long enough for the rest of your board to come together.
Item and Tool cards:
Giant Cape increases a Pokémon’s HP, giving Mega Diancie ex even more staying power and making certain knockouts much more difficult for your opponent.
Lucky Ice Pop adds another layer of survivability by providing additional healing, helping your main attacker remain on the field for multiple turns and continue applying pressure.
Poké Ball is a staple in almost every deck, allowing you to search for your Basic Pokémon and set up your board more reliably.
Rare Candy is essential in versions that play Stage 2 Pokémon, particularly Gardevoir and Mega Gardevoir ex, letting you reach your Energy engine much faster.
Finally, Field Blower is one of the most versatile Trainer cards available. Since nearly every competitive deck relies on Tools or Stadiums, being able to remove either one gives you answers to a huge variety of situations and makes Field Blower a valuable inclusion in almost every Mega Diancie ex build.
