Hola Everyone! Anketsu here.
Dual Fusion is finally here, bringing a fresh batch of cards to Pokémon TCG Pocket and, most importantly, the debut of Dual-Type Pokémon.
Mega Mewtwo X ex and Mega Greninja ex are the big names of the set, but there are plenty of other decks worth checking out.
Here, you’ll find a quick look at the decks you can build with Dual Fusion, from potential meta threats to fun alternatives and full-on meme decks.
These are my first impressions, so don’t take the rankings as gospel just yet. Let’s see which decks have what it takes to stand out!

🎓 New to Pokémon TCG Pocket?
Start with the Complete Beginner Guide
Mega Mewtwo ex Deck

Mega Mewtwo ex is one of the two cover cards of Dual Fusion, alongside Pikachu ex, and is arguably the strongest card in the set.
As a dual-type Psychic and Fighting Pokémon, it can take advantage of Arena of Antiquity, Peculiar Plaza, Korrina, Meloetta, and several other support cards.
With devastating power and plenty of synergy, Mega Mewtwo ex is one of the top decks to watch and has the potential to make a big impact on the meta.
Mega Greninja ex Deck

Mega Greninja ex is the set’s other dual-type Pokémon, combining Water and Darkness, and is only available in Pikachu packs.
Its ability to prevent your opponent’s Pokémon from retreating can make it difficult for them to escape unfavorable matchups.
The real highlight, though, is Frogadier, which lets you put another Frogadier from your deck into play for free.
This makes it possible to get three Greninja on the field at the same time!
Pikachu ex Deck

We’ve seen Pikachu ex decks before, and this new version follows a familiar game plan, with slightly better Energy management than its predecessors.
The real game changer is Light Ball, a Pokémon Tool designed specifically for Pikachu ex that increases all damage it deals by 30 points.
It’s a simple but effective boost that makes this familiar archetype a little more threatening, I like it!
Giratina ex Deck

The original Giratina ex was one of the strongest cards in Pokémon TCG Pocket history, and this new version looks very promising.
It doesn’t seem as broken as its predecessor, but it still offers solid damage output and excellent synergy with Dragonair.
Giratina ex looks like one of the top decks to try from Dual Fusion, and I’m excited to see how it performs in the new meta.
Mega Tyranitar ex Deck

Mega Tyranitar ex is a slow Darkness-type deck, but its damage output is absolutely massive.
The new Pupitar is the real star of the setup, helping accelerate Energy and get Mega Tyranitar ex ready to attack sooner.
I’d definitely run two copies of Pupitar to make the most of this powerful, hard-hitting strategy.
Skarmory ex Deck

Mega Skarmory ex is a new Basic Mega Pokémon that relies on coin flips to unleash its attacks.
It can be extremely dangerous when luck is on your side, and pairing it with the Metal-type’s usual damage-reduction effects makes for a particularly interesting strategy.
With the right defensive support, Mega Skarmory ex could be much harder to take down than you might expect.
Mega Dragonite ex Deck

Let’s be honest… it’s Dragonite. What’s not to love?
Jokes aside, Mega Dragonite ex has some competitive potential, but there are still a few question marks surrounding the deck.
The big challenge will be finding the right combination of cards to make it run smoothly.
If the pieces fall into place, this could be a deck worth keeping an eye on.
Vespiquen Ribombee Deck

Vespiquen and Ribombee make up a Grass-type single-prize deck, and you know how much I love these kinds of decks!
I also really like the personality of this one, with its strategy built around Sweet Honey.
Charizard Fuecoco ex Blue Deck

This Charizard deck is all about speed, building up Energy quickly to get Charizard attacking as soon as possible.
Fuecoco ex is a great early-game tank, giving you some breathing room while you set things up, and the new Blue provides additional support.
Lycanroc ex Deck

Lycanroc ex is a Fighting-type deck that brings back a mechanic we’ve seen with Mega Sableye ex: dealing damage when your opponent attacks it.
Don’t underestimate this one!
Rabbit Jumping Deck

Rabbit Jumping reminds me a bit of the Puppy Pile deck we saw a few months ago.
It’s another single-prize deck that can actually do pretty well when everything comes together.
You know I’m always happy to see these kinds of strategies, so this one gets my approval!
Rika Paldean Clodsire Deck

Rika is a new Supporter designed specifically for Paldean Clodsire and Whiscash.
This is definitely a bit of a weird deck, but that’s part of the fun!
Lorelei Deck

Lorelei is a new Supporter designed for Lapras, Dewgong, and Cloyster.
The idea isn’t bad, but the deck feels like it’s missing something…
Bewear ex Deck

Bewear ex is peak meme deck material. If the coin flips go your way, you absolutely smash everything in sight.
If they don’t, well… you’re just standing there looking around like you didn’t just trip in front of a whole crowd.
We’ve all been there. Definitely not the deck to bring if you’re looking for consistency.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Dual Fusion has plenty of decks to experiment with, and I’m especially curious to see how Mega Mewtwo ex and Mega Greninja ex will shape the new meta. There are also some fun alternatives in the mix, and you know I’ll always make room for a good single-prize deck!
Here’s my provisional tier list based on my first impressions of the expansion. The meta is still taking shape, so I expect some of these rankings to change as we get more games in.
